Six pink flamingos missing; owners want them back

Date: May 5, 2005
Publication: Chronicle, The (Centralia, WA)

A second "ransom" note was left at a Centralia home on Wednesday demanding chocolate for the return of a half dozen pink flamingo yard ornaments stolen days earlier. The 30-something couple, who live on the 200 block of Yew Street, say they have no idea who might have taken the birds from in front of their house

Date: May 10, 2005
Publication: Chronicle, The (Centralia, WA)

Tom Singer's small flock of pink plastic flamingos returned to his Centralia home as mysteriously as they disappeared last week. The five -- not six as earlier reported -- lawn ornaments were on the porch of his Yew Street home in a cardboard box when he awoke Friday morning

Thanks for this post: flamingos can circulate, like Karma, I guess! Good to know.

Flamingos migrate. Domestic ones don't migrate far, seldom beyond nearby neighborhoods or dumpsters.

A few years ago there was a" flock" of flamigo thefts in Peterborough, Ontario area - near the site of the Bolerama at Emily Prov. Park.
A group called the Society Against Tacky Lawn Ornaments claimed responsibilty. I kid you not! They haven't made the provincial press releases lately so maybe they were effective and there are no more flamigoes to steal there OR they moved to WA.l
