Back in the olden days, in a land far, far away ... Oh, sorry. I got carried away.

Not too long after the forum began, the subject of adding a spell checker kept coming up. After discussing its pro's and con's ad nauseum, I came up with the following (glad to know that someone else agrees with me).

Shell Speck
Me end Webster's use to bee good partners until we had a pardon of the waves. You sea, the problem isn't that I don't know how to spell nor it is that I don't half good grammar. The problem is that my hands and brain don't always coordinate.

I no the difference between accept/except, there/their/they're, who/whom, know/no, etc. So spelling and grammar are not the problem. It's just that sometimes I get in a hurry and the fingers snag the first one out of my brain. The shell speck on most computers just isn't smart enough to figure it out.

Another reason that I don't like them: It NEVER likes my made up words.

And lastly, if a spell check is available, then I really look like a dork when I miss something!

By the way, I ran this through my spell checker, and it thought it was swell!

So for me, I'm glad we do not have a shell speck on this forum!
