Info on the bridge:
On June 22nd, 2001, Henk Kroes, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Vereniging, unveiled the Elfstedenmonument on the Canterlandsebridge made by the artists Maree Blok and Bas Lughthart. The monument contains fourthousand tiles on which the pictures of Elfstedenskaters are shown. The tiles are attached to the bridge. From a distance the tiles show a row of skaters. The Canterlandsebridge is the last bridge the skaters pass before finishing the tour. It is situated on the road between the Friesian villages Gytsjerk en Lekkum.
