Was that before or after they were using the 2 Gerbil power engine?

Getting Old....

When your children are all qualified to join AARP.

A lady tells you she is looking for a man to date, you offer to introduce her to your son and she replies" I don't date older men."

When you have slept with a lady and youall really did sleep.

You know you're getting older when people start saying, you're looking good,

And they stop saying, you're good looking.

Stole this one from a facebook meme. You know you are getting old when "Friends with Benefits" means having a friend who can drive at night.

There were several times that I was going to post an example of why I know I'm old, but every time I look at this thread, there is an example, like core memory, that convinces me that am not as old as I feel.

So, thanks!

Ah, that's close to true. My '56 small window VW Type I had tangs on the crank pulley, and a slotted hole in the body behind that. The crank (stored in the front) was inserted through the hole and engaged the tangs. Ignition on, "clear prop!", crank and start! Keep in mind that the original 25 HP and 36 HP engines were 6½:1 compression, so it really worked.
Edit: aside: during the gas crisis in the 70's, I used a gallon of paint thinner, to have enough fuel to get to college classes one day. It pinged, but got me there.
