Account Verification Notice Next Week

Next week we will be prompting forum members to verify their contact info as they login to the forum.

In the coming weeks, we will be moving towards a simpler login using your email address (which is private) and password but first we want to make sure the address associated with your account is accurate.

Many members have ancient e-mail addresses associated with their current accounts and so we will be asking every member to go through a simple verification process (similar to when you registered your forum account) before we switch to email/password logins. Next week as you login we will ask you to affirm your address is correct or to update it. As you do this we will send you a link via that email address to click to complete the verification process. You can then proceed as usual to login with your current user/pass information.

Once members have had time to verify existing addresses (or update them if needed) we will make the change to logging in with that address (a few weeks from now). We appreciate your patience as we go through this process.

What about us who never log out? As in, I have no idea what my password it or log-in name.

This is part of the reason for the update. A lot of folks have this same issue. The verification process will help verify that your account is up to date and the e-mail address correct. When we begin the verification process, you will see the screens when you have (automatically) logged in. For almost everyone this will be a seamless and painless process. For a few folks, they will need to update their e-mail address. It will be a week or so before we do this - just posting now to make sure every one is aware that it's coming....

Well, using the “new posts” tab, it looks like I logged in on 9/26. But I didn’t get any prompt then either, and my settings have me entering my PW each time I log in.

IE the end of next week.

Just a note that this was turned on today. You will see the prompt when you login. be sure to read the info about the e-mail address and make sure it's still accurate. There is an option to update if not. Once you have clicked the "validate link - be sure to check your e-mail. Click on the verification link in your e-mail and then you'll be done.

It took several times getting the notice and clicking on it before the email actually showed up. Then while verifying, I got the message that the link was not valid.

Finally, after repeatedly trying to figure out why, and re-trying, it went through and I was validated.

The links appeared blank on my screen.. they did appear when I moved the cursor over them but it threw me off for a minute.

Also the verification popped up when I was relying to a post. My reply disappeared and I did not feel like re-typing it.

Other than that, no big deal. NOW I AM LEGAL!

yes I also thought the email was a bit slow.. but not as slow as the Microsoft verification that took a few hours. Just wait for it. There is no need to hurry the process.

Ok this is getting crazy. Every single time I respond or do anything on the board I get this message.

I have already confirmed more than once.
