Ads covering the side thread menu

Is anyone else having a problem with double length ads covering the top of the right side threads menu? Not every time, but often enough to be annoying. I'm using Safari on a Mac...

And here. I have reported several times to Google ( waste of time ) and to the administrators of this site. It's not happening on the Escape forum. I've found if you scroll just past the bottom of the ad, you can click on the top post under recent discussions, and after that it seems to work normally.

I’ve reported it and got an acknowledgment but so far no fix. Edge on Windows 11 here.

No Subscription Forum

Nothing is free and I have not paid anything to visit here. So I guess that is the cost. Who here would pay up to be a member? I have a couple subscriptions and volunteer as a monitor for one site .

I use NoScript with my browser (Firefox on Windows) and don't have any ads show up.

I have the same problem, so I hit the X to get rid of the ad, then click on Feedback and choose "ad covers content". So then google removes the ad but then there is a blank spot that still covers the list of topics. Sometimes the same ad comes right back. Sometimes if I can get one topic up then the ad goes away, but not always.

If you can't see the content because the ads cover it, then you are getting nothing. It's a problem that needs to be addressed for the benefit of the subscribers, the site and the advertisers.
It's not the only issue that needs to be addressed. Social Knowledge is using archaic software that doesn't correct photo orientation and causes nothing but frustration for users and moderators. It's possible that this software is the issue, not Google.

I do not get ads covering information, but I also run a malware (malwarebytes) program every month or two and use Firefox. Also, pictures are correct if you hold your phone/camera correct.

Ads are necessary,- we all understand that- but in this case they are not displaying correctly. The site administrator did acknowledge there is a software problem and forwarded to the technical staff.

Glenn’s assessment is spot on. This is very old software and there is limited commitment to support. Be careful what you ask for. At some point the owners may decide rather than build a whole new platform, they will just shut it down, and a great resource will be lost.

It reminds me of watching my beloved iPhone 4 gradually die before my eyes. Once it hit “vintage” status, little-by-little, one-by-one, things just stopped working.

Interesting....????

I am using a Samsung Chromebook, running Chrome operating system, with
AdblockPlus, and have yet to see an add on this Forum.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted about lack of adds....."They" now can fix their "bug" and send me all kinds of adds when I surf the FG Forum!

Just noticed this has been fixed. The second, non-scrolling ad is now at the bottom of the sidebar so it doesn't cover any content. I think it's actually been fixed a while, but just realized it and wanted to thank the site team!
