Advice: buying from an auction website (Toolrepocomp)

Hello, I am considering buying an RV using Toolsrepocomp LLC, in fact, I bid and won Now I'm scared to death to send the money thinking it might be a scam. Is anyone here who has used them already? Are they legit? I know there is a lien, person/entity I need to send the money but, the address they sent in the invoice is a place in the middle of nothing in Minessota...

DON'T DO IT!

You are smart to suspect a rat! And wise to see if anyone can confirm the legitimacy of the auction site. (NOPE!)

There's some other good discussion on this thread about buying safely

Thanks Steve, that one you sent me is the only one I found at first. Then, more started to pop up, all the URLs are bogus, impressive how they worked to scam people. But, I am very skeptical and check and recheck all the information many times until I am satisfied that is legit. So, I will wait till they call me to ask for the money to tell them a couple of things!!!

You confirmed it yourself on 01-18-2022 in the link I posted.

You said, "...I can confirm I have personally bought a 1999 17 ft Casita Liberty Deluxe from them, and I've received it in 3 days. I've accepted it after only four days. So yes, they are selling quality stuff, if you have any concerns about the quality of their products. Keeping in mind that you have two weeks to inspect it, this shouldn't be a concern. If you're asking about their legitimacy, I can confirm they are legit. I hope you find all your answers. Good luck "

^^^It's as if a fake web page exists on its own. How did you find it, Google?

Actually, Steve Outlaw, I did not say any such thing. It appears as if I did, but that's the scam.

Sounds like either you or the site was hacked. Why did you allow that thread to stay up?

I don't think that "thread" is actually on FGRV. Can you access it from this site?

indeed, I searched for it on this site, and there's no such thread. Google also found very similar sorts of fake forum threads with weird URLs all referencing this same toolsrepocomp with glowing reviews by random forum members, very similar pattern to the one referenced by Steve Outlaw here.

scam

Scam. Just do an incognito google search for Toolsrepocomp and see the results.
They do not have a website, none found. Check, Google, the URL and see the results. A website does not make it a real business but with that informaion you can do a search to see if it is real.
Notice that there is not even one negative comment. Was every sale prefect, prefect seller? I don't believe so.
How were you able to bid? What is the actual URL to go to the website to see what they have for sale? Did you have to use a credit card to sign up to bid and what personal information did you give them to get approved before bidding?
If so, did you check you credit card statement to see any charges yet?
Do a google search of the body of the listing description itself, to see if the item is for sale at some other website.

Remember these scammers have your willingness to believe anything they post. There is always another person that is willing to bid and get scammed.

I did storage wars before it was a TV show and online auctions since 2006 and have not been scammed yet. I buy items for me and to flip them on Craigslist which is still good in my area close to Los Angeles and also on proven safe websites and live onsite auctions. You always have to know that it is safe site or that you could afford to take a lost for the full amount before you proceed.

Plenty of questions OP hasn't answered.

Exposed

I just want to say that this website is monitored very well by the users/members as well as the moderators to protect users from being scammed. Most of the reply's were to be skeptical and not to feed the beast/scammer. Was the original posting by the scammer's or someone being scammed?

Most of the regular's on here are sharp to identify when something isn't right and to say something in a post as word of caution. Do your homework first not after the fact. When the money is transferred consider it to be gone and no hope for recovery.
