When you log in are you checking the little box that says "Remember Me"

If you are using an iPad and Safari, be sure to go into iPad settings, then Safari, and in the "Passwords and Autofill" field there are some tabs you have to turn on.

I had to do this even though I was checking the "remember me" box. It was driving me crazy...apparently during an iOS update it had changed.

Same thing is happening to me. Both at home, and at work. When I am in the list of forums, it acts like I am logged in, but when I am viewing a thread, it looks like I am not logged in. I can still post, but there is no quick post box. I have to click the "Post Reply" button.

None of the threads I have read get marked as read.

I thought it was me. I've logged in 5 times. Thanks for letting me know I haven't been kicked out of one of my favorite websites.

OK, I tried clicking "Remember me" when I logged in. Now I can read a thread and I still am logged in. I wonder what has changed? This just started this weekend.

We use cookies to keep you logged in between page changes. It's likely that you have an old cookie set (new one after server update last week) or that your system is purging cookies between page changes.

Trouble shooting suggestions:

Log out.
Empty your temp internet files (cache)
Log back in and check the "remember me" box as you do.

If this still doesn't solve the issue, check your browser settings and specifically enable cookie exchange with the site. You may also want to set your systems security settings to medium.

If you have done all this and are still having trouble, please let us know and include info about what browser and version you are using. This will help us track down the issue.

I've been having a similar problem, manifestation in my case being that I log in, post something, and the site immediately logs me off again. Can't even edit what I just posted without logging in again!

This time I tried the "remember me" button- will report back on edit!

ON EDIT

All's well now- didn't make me do any of the other steps Janet outlines above. As if I actually know how to do any of that...whew!

Could be that the site dosen't know if you exist as you haven't been "sited" it does know you have been "cited" though but that's a lower bar to reach.
