Annoying bottom banner

When I go to the Forums page and open any category, I get a banner at the bottom as shown here.

Name:	banner.jpg
Views:	20
Size:	28.6 KB
ID:	55305

If I close it out, it won't come back for that browsing session but returns again next time I visit the Forums page. Any way of turning it off for good?

Thanks.

When I get this message, I "log-in" and it goes away.

Now I know this happens because I don't have my computer save my passwords since we are often on public wi-fi systems and I'm trying to be cautious about having someone be able to "read" my information.

Maybe overkill since my firewall is always on.

Just call me paranoid.

Josie

Rick, I use Chrome and dont see it. Wonder if it has anything to do with not being logged in. I know there are a lot of banners that appear if you are not logged in correctly.

I have IE 9 and will get the same if I do not have the Pop-Up Blocker turned on. If you have IE, go to Internet Options/Privacy and make sure that you have a check mark next to Turn On Pop-up Blocker. Also click on the Settings button next to this option and make sure that this website is not in the list of Allowed Sites. Beware that on some sites you may need to allow pop-ups to see some content, so those sites can be added to this list.

"Never log out" is the solution, as noted above. All that means is that the page is open, no ads, whenever you get here. It's not like there's some kind of live permanent connection between the site and your computer or anything...

Side note:
I'd be in trouble if I ever did log out! It's been so long since I "logged in" that I've forgotten my password...

Try default style at the bottom left of the page.

You should not be seeing the banner if you have dismissed it and are logged in. If you purge all cookies after you log out you may see it again and really there is no harm in staying logged in. The server disconnects from your computer after a few minutes of inactivity anyway

Send a message via AIM to Dick & Joanne
Francesca:
You are so right on that. I got an Ipad for my birthdate andf downloaded the FV forum app. But it has been so long since I had to use my password that I don't remember what it is.
