Default Settings for Subscriptions

Is there a way to set my account so that it defaults to NOT subscribing to a thread in which I have posted?

I really only want to be subscribed to a thread that I started - then I'm looking for answers. Otherwise, I'd rather not have my e-mail and phone tied up with notifications when I have merely posted a response to someone else's question. Of course, I can manually unsubscribe after each post, but I often forget.

Honestly, I am finding this forum addicting… need to detach!!

Ha! Think I found it… little circle with a line through it…

Seriously, though, is there a way to turn off notifications permanently or do I have to unsubscribe from a thread every time I post?

Under "Settings & Options" in the User CP select "Edit Options"
Scroll down until you find the drop-down "Default Thread Subscription Mode", the default appears to be "Instant email notification".
Just change this setting to "Do Not Subscribe" and "Save Changes"
