Dona, your first sentence on your first reply was good enough. It was a simple question that John asked. Sometimes you get to deep in explaining something. You also stated “Nor can you add an image to a PM” which is a bad statement because you can.
John is probably more confused now than what he was when he asked the question. Maybe what he should have asked was: How do I post an img to a PM from my computer?
Some genealogy websites caution about posting pictures that you don't own.
If you post a picture of a relative from his wedding and it was taken by XYZ Photos, the website and you would be open for copyright infringement as I understand it.
