Just post a reply at the end saying it's been sold. It does not change the heading of the original post but lets people know and pretty soon it falls way down the list because of lack of any further posts asking questions.
Once it is marked 'Sold', a moderator will move it to the archives. This way it is still there as a reference, but nobody can post to it.
