In figured it out on the iPad app, since the 'subscribed' button is not hidden in a sub menu. Nice app, overall. I like being able to easily post pics from the iPhone without using photo bucket or some other image host.

I've enjoyed being able to post photos direct from the phone, too. I do miss the Unread Posts link, though.
My only problem with the standard forum templates is that the Last Post link is so close to the User Details link, that about ten percent of the time I wind up getting the user details page. That wouldn't be so bad except the system logs the last visitor to each profile page, giving the appearance I'm cyberstalking everyone!

Okay, it worked for a teeny tiny photo that I saved from a thumbnail on the web. Any idea of the max size it might work for?

That post kind of ended up in the wrong place, sorry... I did figure out if I resize to 640x480 I can upload from the ipad. I used "iResize" which cost $.99.

Is anyone else having trouble with pictures opening with the iPhone app? Today when I click the pictures it says "this photoset contains no photos"

I just put Tapatalk on my new iPhone and can't find this forum with it's search function.
What am I missing...? (total iPhone rookie here - an all things smartphone-wise, but I'm liking the computing power in my pocket!)

While tapatalk is not enabled here we do have an app available. You can find it by going to itunes and searching or by turning tapatalk off and then surfing to the forum on your iphone. You should see the prompt to install our app.

Thanks Janet, that would explain the not-finding issue. As soon as I can get the phone from my Angry-Bird playing wife I will look for it.

Would you consider enabling Tapatalk for the rest of us that don't have fruity mobile devices?
Thank you

We also support Android and hope to have a Blackberry app soon. What device are you using?

webOS. Is there a reason to have website specific apps? Why not just install and enable the free Tapatalk plug-in instead of having a separate app for each operating system? Is it an issue with losing the advertising exposure?
There is a webOS ver 3.0 Tapatalk app (Communities) that's good for about 50,000 web sites. There is also a webOS ver 2.0 Tapatalk app (Forums) that's good for the same sites. The webOS browser handles the full site, but the small screen is crowded and cumbersome to navigate on.
What ever you want and thanks for thinking about it. I'll still be visiting regularly.
Thanks for a great site.

The main reasons we have a forum specific app are:
- It's provided FREE to the members whereas members have to pay to install tapatalk. We have had thousands of installs so that would have cost our members tens of thousands of dollars. Instead we let the advertising on our site pay for services like this so we can provide them for free.
- We hope to expand the apps in the future to have more features (you can't do that with the basic tapatalk)
I have a few issues with tapatalk:
- Members have to pay to install it, I'd rather give mobile access for FREE.
- There have been forums hacked through security exploits of tapatalk
- Tapatalk is frequently updated to address issues. These updates require server side uploads which means more maintenance for us to keep our community safe.
- We experienced some unethical business practices that we suspect were used to launch the product (albeit they seem to have worked). Basically we had members join and their first post was asking us to instal tapatalk. Their IPs were from the same country that tapatalk is from (coincidence? maybe...)
- Support products that are made in the USA (Tapatalk is made in China)
- Tapatalk offered a private label solution that we could give out for free but it was priced so high it was not feasible for us to use. I felt the pricing model was intentional to encourage forum owners to use their free to install version and thus lead to more sales of their apps (smart strategy for them). On the contrary, one of their competitors, Forum Runner, offered a private label app for about 20% of the price of Tapatalk which made the economics of offering these apps for FREE to our members feasible.
I hope that helps provide some perspective into our decision making on this.

Thank you for taking the time to explain your experience. The developer of the webOS Tapatalk app is in Zaragoza, Spain. As I understand it, Tapatalk will sell a license to a developer for ~ $1,000.00 and then the developer can build and sell any apps they want for different operating systems.
Don't rush to build a webOS app just because I asked. It may be a doomed operating system.

This posting was more than a year ago. What is the status of the blackberry version, and how do I download it?

I now have a 7" android tablet. The website displays on it just fine. Is there any advantage for me to download the app? Just wondering if I am missing out on something.

On a tablet you are probably OK. The screen layout just isn't optimized very well for a cell phone sized screen. All of the features work in a cell phone browser. Its just not a very fluid experience. On a 7" screen, you are probably fine.
