Mobile access issue

Just in the past couple of weeks when I try to respond to notices of posts on my Android I often get the message

"you don't have enough permissions to access this feature."

It happens roughly half the time.

When available I can open them fine on my laptop.

When you say "respond to notices" are you trying to reply to the email?

This is probably not the right answer, but remember that it doesn't really work to reply by email to those notifications. (They are sent by the system, so when you reply to one of them your reply goes to the system, i.e., the Support Desk. It doesn't get posted to the thread. It's never seen by the person to whom you're trying to reply... unless and until you actually post in the thread of interest.)

I say that's not the right answer, though, because I don't understand how you get the "you don't have enough permissions" error message if you're sending the Support Desk an email. (Also, I'm the one who typically answers the Support Desk correspondence, and I'd remember if things were coming in from you.)

Ah, okay. So, you're clicking on the link that's in the notification and you sometimes get the permissions error. Obviously (?) I have no idea why it would do that, but maybe I can find out. (Then next time I'll know...)

This sounds like the message comes from your Android phone service, not from this forum. Check out things on the provider account web page. I was getting weird stuff recently on my Samsung, and had to go as far as doing a factory reset, even after spending hours "chatting" with customer service. If you do, back up everything first and make sure even your photos are backed up. Good luck.

My guess here is that when you click you are not logged in. Since you can't respond when you are not logged in you get that permissions error. This would also explain the intermittent nature of the issue.

Solution = login

Thanks for that thought. But there have been times when I get 2 notifications. One goes through fine, the other repeatedly gives the error message.
