Mobile App Changes

In the coming days forum access via the mobile app will be discontinued and we wanted to make you aware of some other options so that your surfing won't be interrupted.

Our forums software already has a mobile view with this same functionality. Use a browser to access the forum instead of the app
Transitioning to this view on smaller screens is straightforward and we'll add convenient links at the top of the page to help you navigate to the mobile-friendly view. You will find those links right at the top of the list of forums as you log in. Click the desired link to toggle the view.

In the coming months, we'll be moving to new software (exciting details soon) so this current change is a temporary one. Deprecating the mobile app has been a difficult choice but we are taking this step in an abundance of caution as security concerns for this aging platform increase. We take member privacy seriously and believe that the inconvenience caused by this change is outweighed by broader privacy issues. Thanks for understanding.

Example of new links location (coming in a few days):

I have two "mobile" options. One I access through me browser. The second is an android app downloaded from the playstore. I assume the latter is what you are talking about. While I don't use it much, it is the only way I have found to add pictures to my posts.

I gave up on the Apple app years ago because it wasn’t being supported.

The mobile skin (browser version) does pictures just fine on my iPhone. I toggle to the full site version when needed for searching and a few other things and toggle back afterward. It will be nice to have the toggle at the top of the page.

When I use the browser version, it asks for a URL. When I use the android app it takes me to the gallery on my tablet. While there may be another way, this is the only way I have found to post pictures. People posting with an android phone are in the same situation.

Sounds like you're using the web link (globe) icon. You need the icon that looks like a paper clip. If you're using the quick reply box, look for the "Go Advanced" button underneath. That should pull up a second row of post tools above the first. The paper clip icon opens a new window. Click "choose file" and you should get an option to access your photo files. Hit upload and wait until they drop into the attachment list before posting.

Not as convenient as the app, I agree, but the app had so many other problems I quit using it.
