While using the mobile app with my iPhone, I am getting failures when following links to other forum entries that are posted within a message. For example, the following thread in message #21 has a link to a rally. http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...tml#post439802
When I tap to follow the link I get the message "Oops.. Network error. Refresh to retry." Of course, refresh gets the same message.
When I use a browser (Safari on the iPhone) the link works fine.
I'm not sure what can be done about this but any help is appreciated.
I primarily use my iPhone (4s) to access this forum, and I have not experienced any of the problem you have described. My guess would be that it is a result of something in the settings, probably under Safari (e.g., accept cookies. I could not do online banking with my bank's mobile app until I changed some of the settings. Just a thought.
What a long strange trip itís been!
Thanks for the reply. When using your iPhone do you use Safari or the app? As I said, Safari works fine so I don't see how changing Safari settings would help. The link failure occurs when using the Fiberglass RV mobile app. It would be helpful if you (or another app user out there) would try to verify the problem using the thread I linked above and try the link in message #21 to see if it works or not.
I did try the link you provided and it loaded with no problem using the app. I just know that my bank's app would not work without changing Safari settings. Which iPhone do you have? Also, the iPhone has some quirks. Try removing the app and reinstalling it. I have found and I don't know why but when my phone won't connect to WiFi systems, turning on Airplane Mode and then turning it off often corrects the situation. Check in Safari settings to see if you accept cookies.

Thanks Carl. I have the newer iPhone 5s. Current Safari setting is Block Cookies from third parties and advertisers (default). I tried block cookies - never with no luck. I also tried this using my wife's iPad and had the same link failure so it's not iPhone specific. I should note that not every link in a message fails, so far I've only run across this problem with links that are within the forum. I will try your app reinstall suggestion.
Thanks Mary for confirming this. Now I know I'm not alone and that at least two of us are seeing this.
I'm happy to participate in any testing if you try any changes thing on your end. I did further tests using David's Trillium Serial Number thread http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...-56121-18.html as it contains lots of internal links. I had failures on some but saw nothing consistent that I could put my finger on.
The app takes me to the end of the thread so I try opening the link in post #240 and it fails.
Going back, post #239 fails
#238 works fine.
#237 fails etc.
#234 has a link that works.
These are all internal links to the site.
Hi, Ken. Between uninstalling the app and doing the reinstall, did you also cycle down your device?
I'm afraid this is going to turn out to be a Tapatalk issue. One thing I noticed is the internal links aren't displaying the same way on the app as they do in Safari (computer or app version). This indicates something odd in the way these links are parsed by Tapatalk's app. I'm afraid all we can do is report the issue and hope it's fixed in an update... and access the site via the Safari app if/when a thread has a bunch of internal links.
This morning I tried to add a picture to a post using the IPad app and got an error. I tried again a few minutes ago and got the same error. I took a screen shot. Ironically, I was able to post the screen shot of the error message. Go figure. Raz
I am not IT expert but I do know that I have read where some folks on another forum where having issues with the forum links and google links to the forum and that it had something to do with Tap Talk a plug the Social Knowledge uses being outdated. Tap talk if I am not mistaken is also built into the apps we download to use the forum. Possible something for the site admin/IT person to look into further..... no idea if its the cause or not!
