pop-up pm from a name not listed

When I came on tonight I found 2 things
i had to sign in
and over the top was a box with a pm from a Dan Alderman requesting info about the 2002 Oxygen
I cannot reply- it says he is not a member. tried it twice. solutions?
have we been hacked agin?
