Posting a Poll for New Thread Category?

Hello,
How does the poll checkbox work at the bottom of a new thread, and how can it can be set up?

I'd like to know if there's enough interest for a new forum regarding "Rally Coordination". The purpose would be to share how-to tips and ideas from past and current rally coordinators, and it could act as an invaluable resource for future coordinators.

I hear the same repeated complaint from "retired" coordinators; they're tired of dealing with the people and don't enjoy their time at the rally! A supportive forum would share everything from marketing to post-rally evaluation. This could bring the quality of rallies to a new standard, and for the non-coordinators reading the thread, it would enlighten them to how much work it takes to produce a rally.

I look forward to your feedback.

Hi, Hidalga. Sorry I missed this post the other day. I don't know if there's enough interest to create a new section (forum) but for sure there's a need to share the information.

As for the poll checkbox, according to the system FAQ, once you check it, it will prompt you for the number of choices the poll will contain. Like in this case, maybe 3:

Yes that would be great
No I'm not interested
Maybe I'm not sure or have no opinion

Hidalga, you might want to make it even more specific - I'm not sure exactly what you/we want to find out...

Does this help? Or is it a manifestation of my incredible grasp of the obvious?

Try it, you'll like it?

Thanks Mary. I continued to poke around, and made it work. Here's the thread:

http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ion-72874.html

While I have you, I was also wondering how things get archived. I'd like to specifically archive the two following threads:

http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...aps-67269.html

http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...nks-70425.html

If members can archive their own threads, that would be good to learn. Thanks.

We generally archive things that are no longer "upcoming," but we try not to be hasty about doing it.

The rallies archive is still read/write (unlike the for sale archive, which is read only), but we get complaints if we move stuff too soon.

The Eggshells in the Outer Banks should've already been moved (oops); but I'm not surprised the 2015 Rally Map is still in the "upcoming" forum. (Will remedy soon.)
