Re: [scampers] MFROG Registering

I've tried to register several times and like Gary, it doesn't go thru.
I've notified admin, still doesn't work

Thanks Pete.

I answer every email sent to FGRV admin usually within an hour. I just helped a fellow who did not get his confirmation email. It turns out that it is almost always a AOL member that does not get their confirmation email. AOL’s system seems to mark website generated emails as SPAM and directs their email to the customers SPAM box. I don’t know how to solve that problem for them other then to tell them to check their SPAM box.

The one I just fixed for a AOL customer could not find the email in his SPAM box either, but my email went through so I OK’d his registration.

This whole thing really takes a lot of time and effort.

As many of you know we use to have no confirmation and it was abused by Hackers and Jerks that wanted to cause problems. ie - Registrations like ButtHead, TroubleMaker, and so on. We are just trying to keep this a friendly place to share.

I see Gary’s registration is pending so I wrote him an email. Hopefully we can solve his problem.

Friends . . . . don't let friends . . . . . sign up with AOL . They truly are the 'Borg' of the ISP world (only, I think the Borg offer more positive features to their assimilation).

I consult with individuals and small businesses on desktop and small computer problems and, after years of trying to help folks who were attached to their AOL accounts, I gave up - I now just refuse any contract where a client has AOL (However, I will gladly help them convert to any number of more reasonable providers )

Curiously, I have used the same AOL account for many years and have never had a problem. If I did I would switch over to my business email address, but so far I have not had to.

I really wish I knew why some AOL users have problems and some don’t. It seems there are changes being made and NEW AOL users to FiberglassRV are having the problems.

I haven’t had an AOL account for many years and really don’t want to sign up just to research the problem.

Thanks Pete...I was corresponding with webguy about Gary's problem registering.

I send out a boat load of e-mails a month on behalf of an classic truck club I belong to. The only ones that get kicked back are the AOL users. This is a snippet of one of the messages...maybe it will help someone else.

(reason: 550 We would love to have gotten this email to name-removed-to-protect@aim.com. But, your recipient never logged... super features offered by AIM Mail. And by the way, they're also missing out on your email. Thanks.)
Now what AIM has to do with this, I don't know...maybe the address should be ....@AIM.com instead of ....@AOL.com But they have to signup for it????
