We have a bunch of interesting information about members in our profiles, such as the RV Type and Location. Would it be possible, at some calmer time in the future, to enable searching the member list by those fields? That way, for instance, I might be able to find the member who posted information about his frame replacement for a "Trails West Campster", to then search for his posts or send a message.

Just a thought - I don't know if the IPB database and search tools make this practical or not.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

They don't allow much in the current software. When we get the upgrade we will see what we can do. This has been requested several times ... although I suppose there will always be members who would prefer not to be so easily found by such categories. (Useful for the looker, but not so good, perhaps, for the lookee.)

It looks like Mike has the new IPB version up and running - there's still no rush to add anything, but I'll have a look at the new Search tool to see what we can do with it.

In some cases, I might be looking for a member to give them information which I know will be of interest, following up previous posts but not remembering the member name. I agree it could also be a source of queries, as in "you have a Brand X trailer like mine - how do I..."

Oh well, no new options in the Search tool.
