Sent messages not in 'Sent' mailbox

I have sent a few PM's to other members lately and they don't seem to be in my 'sent' mailbox so I don't know they are going through until and unless I receive a reply. I don't want to pester other members with repeat messages but I'd like to know if my messages are getting through.
Any advice?

Hi: Barrie Bochoff... There's a box at the bottom...scroll down below your message. I believe it says "Save message to sent box". You must click there for each P.M. you send. They won't go to your sent box automatically.
