Pretty bad when the computer tells you you are being too 'wordy', Donna.

I consider "pathetic" a badge of honor Jim.

Smile Signature

I checked some of Rabbit's earlier posts and by jingo, he is correct there is no signature.
That didn't happen to me. I checked a post from 2008 and the avatar, info under the avatar, and signature are the same as this one.

A number of people type their signature into a post rather than letting the software take care of it for them. Hence some old posts aren't going to automatically change.

But, the signature should show up when it is added, no?

There are several options to configure where and when your signature displays.

1. In your account settings. There is an option to always or never display signature.

2. On every post you make there is the option to display or disable a signature. to access this you will need to use the advanced reply editor. Click Go Advanced to see those options. If this option is disabled on a post, regardless of later changes to your sig, no sig will display on these posts.

Finally - when you change your signature all posts that are displaying your signature will reflect the change. It may take a few minutes to update but all sig will be changed.

I wish it worked differently. I wish the signature (and profile, too!) that posted in a message stayed the same for that message, always. That way people reading older posts will not see trailers the poster didn't own at the time. I mean, imagine posting about your particular trailer's quality (let's say Scamp) without actually saying what kind it is, because everyone sees it in your signature or profile; then, later on you get a new trailer (let's say Casita) and people who read that old post could easily think you were discussing the Casita's quality. That's just one example.

Option #2 appears the most likely description of my peculiar signature situation and how I got into it. I had already speculated as much above. So it is not precisely one size fits all on the universal replace with regard to signature as described by the site definition of same. Thank you Janet for the explanation. Thanks to Rog for the tireless investigation. And good to know that the peanut gallery is in good form as usual. Carry on.

Jack
