Small update for a few folks - new view

I wanted to let you know that we are going to sunset the old view of the forum. This change will affect about 40 members as most folks are using the updated view and have been for a long while. About 4 years ago we redesigned the site a little to improve page loads and improve navigation but we also left the old view available for those who preferred it. At the time we noted that the old view would not be supported with regular patches and updates and the time has come to mothball it.

If you're currently running the old version, there is no action you need to take - the new version will simply appear. If you unsure about which version you are seeing the easy way to tell is that the forum page has a column on both the right and left sides of the screen. The current version only has a right hand column.

Thanks for you patience as we move forward.

Here's the old view one more time for posterity:

Sorry to hear that. The blue is much easier on the eyes.

Sorry to hear that! Is there a way to tone down the white?

Can't you just dim your screen?

I run a blue light blocker on all my devices, and it makes a huge difference.

FWIW, the white is actually considerably less bright than when "FGRV 2.0" first went live.

Blue light blocker. I use "iris mini" for my mac, "flux" for my work laptop, and the built-in "night shift" on my iPhone.

It takes getting used to the orange-ish glow instead of the blue/white glow, but once you get used to it you'll be having to put on sunglasses when you look at a friend's screen and won't understand how they can stand it!

That or get yourself a pair of something like these.

This gets into a whole can of worms about blue light doing a heck of a lot more to you than just hurting your eyes but that's for another thread...
