Question The Home Page

Can't that photo on the home page be changed?

How about making it a large version of the random photos on the forum page?

I would think that even the person whose trailer that is, is tired of seeing that picture. :-P

I haven't been to the home page since the last time somebody complained about the picture there.
Not going to the home page now, either.

The home page is important and so are all the brands featured there. Sometimes those that are looking for "all molded towable" that's where they land. Those of us that have been around for a while.. automatically go to the forums

Um, no, not really...
For all intents and purposes it's old and broken, and trying to fix it would be like trying to fix a rotary-dial telephone.
We don't want to cause another feature of the home page to crash... or loose the look and "feel" of the whole page.

Well in that case... can't we have beer-batter pancakes for breakfast? (something easier than changing the home page)

It was changed in 2013, to the current foto. Perhaps some social knowledge has been lost?

The home page picture access code has historically been accessible to only ONE member account. Previously that was the website Owner's (Sole Proprietor) account. Responsibility for the content of that spot has never been delegated. The voluntary Administrators and Moderators do not have access to make changes. Since this website joined the Social Knowledge LLC corporate family, the bulk of the site's operating system is now different from the Home Page's Legacy architecture.

That single account access has passed to Tech Admin, the I.T. guru (as I understand it) for the entire corporate structure of 28 individual websites. This person is as busy as a 1-armed paper-hanger, keeping all the sites up-to-date security-wise.

I will flag this discussion to the attention of the staff, who will probably call a meeting to discuss a plan to address this concern.

Good info Frederick. Personaly I think the current pic kind of says it all for our moulded trailers and gives any new people looking at this site the classic look. I wouldn't change it but that's just me.

If I search on the web for 'fiberglassRV', I will get a link that goes to the Home page. ( http://www.fiberglassrv.com/ )
I also just ignore the photo, and go to the forums.

I think that the Home page could use some reorganization and streamlining of the information on it to make it easier to navigate. Right now, nothing really has visual importance, and someone going to the page for the first time has no idea what to click first.

Red face Some home page fun

One can right click the picture, select 'inspect element', hit delete once and then click the 'x' in the upper rh corner. This will remove the picture. However, when you come back again, it will return. I discovered this process on sites that had ads covering the information I wanted to read. Will this get me a rap on the knuckles from moderators?

Changing home page picture

Changing the home page picture is very very easy, except you have to have access to the code.
<div align="center"><a href="/forums/"><img src="/cover-photos/dannyh.jpg" width="500" height="376" border="0"></a> </div>

All that's required is changing the above line code /cover-photos to what ever directry the photos are in and /dannyh.jpg to the photo file name.

The problem I think is that Andy doesn't let anybody have access to the code.
