This is a modest fist attempt at resizing photos trying to show some favorite spots in Arizona. My wife and I like this spot usually arriving in the first week of July when fire restrictions are lower because of monsoons. We like to be here on the 4th because Alpine has a wonderful 45 minuet fireworks display when allowed. The display is in an open field so bring blankets and warm coats because it will be chilly, we all lay in the field on our backs and watch the display directly above us, tucked between the hills the echos of the show add to the event. The camp is clean and always has spaces in it, its directly off the highway but far enough back to be quiet just outside the city of Alpine about 3 miles. Drinking water is provided in poly tanks. There is usually a misty rain in the evenings with frequent thunder boomers making book reading and naping a joy. The meadow always has Deer grazing in it in the mornings making a cup of coffee taste better watching them. The fees are small with a 14 day stay limit and I provide this link for more information. http://www.wmonline.com/cities/alpine.htm

I can from here drop the trailer in camp being in New Mexico in 40 minuets...There we drop rapidly into hot springs and more adventures. Luna campgrounds up the highway is larger but not as quiet as this one tends to be...I like this camp because it was not for A.T.V. use. Also large rigs go down the hiway to Big Lake. Behind the camp are trails for older campers and a road system allowing for dog walking off leash, both ends of the road just above the trails are blocked to thru traffic being perfect for romping without danger to pooch or self.

I can also sping off here and go back into wilder areas which have several C.C. era camps made in the Rosevelt era we enjoy finding these jems staying in them too.

Talking

Seeing where you are from I can see why "LOL" I was raised until 16 years old on Kodiak Island and married in Fairbanks leaving Alaska in 1977 for Arizona which I fell in love with, it is 3/4 forested. I loved Alaska, Yukon and B.C. forever being a part of my soul but as a middle age man with a wonderful middle aged school teacher wife it is cold now for arthritic bones there, the long winters shut in would drive me buggy, as a younger man I remember being out all day on my snow machine but now I would just be found frozen dead on it. I like camping year round, Arizona is great for that and much more. I will one last time return to Alaska god willing, like the old salmon I am now to see the rivers of my youthful home if time allows, before I go fishing else where forever. Thanks for your comment, its encouraging to me because it’s been a learning curve for me and this cursed electronic buddy named Dell. My grandchildren are computer wiz kids, a very tech savvy lot...These teenage spawn would not last 5 minuets there on their own...They are city kids; Gramps is an enigma for them...But then I have been close enough to touch a whale while in a 16 foot skiff, that’s a powerful memory to have forever.
