We ended up at the Escapee Resort in FL this year. We had originally planned to tour the valley in TX but we felt TX was too cold this year.

We like rural central FL.

We equally like NM and AZ where there are numerous things to do and see.

We spent the winter (5 months) in Dallas and Daphne, Al ( just across the bay from Mobile) and the weather was pretty crappy. Only wore shorts about a dozen times and just about wore out my levies and sweat shirts.

100 days in the VERY sunny south of Florida. Just got home and am still unpacking the Road Toad. Going back next Jan...already have all my state parks booked in Keys and Fort Myers and Daytona. Next year we follow the travellers mantra "half as many clothes and twice as much money :-)

we were down in florida..with stops at both ends of the trip in myrtle beach. spent time in both the fort desoto and daytona areas. weather was basically excellent. too chilly in myrtle beach on the way down...but we do like it there so much at the state park that we go regardless of it not being warm/hot then.

A shout out to you Theresa...sorry we missed you in our wanderings. Elgin, yes, we used the Tril (aka The Road Toad) and after 100 days, we still hadn't killed each other!
Alf...so true! but that's what discount stores and a "one o' five loonie" are for. See you at Bolerama this summer-we're in the big group for Fri & Sat then move to #156 for some plug-in camping while we bike the wineries and kayak Lake Erie.

Since our anchored home is in Oregon we headed for "Death Valley, Lake Mead, Joshua Tree NP, Deming NM, (could have stopped in Quartzsite, AZ), Big Bend National Park, TX, Padre Island, TX. Plus a few other places in SW US. We used our 13' Scamp and spent almost 100 days playing mostly in the sun.
