We camped at Bahia Honda a couple of weeks ago. I am trying to get my wife use to "Iggy". She's coming around. We had a great time....it rained all over South Florida the entire weekend, but not in the keys....being a warm and wonderful person has its rewards.......had a couple of good lunches and dinners...I will say that the Keys in general are growing up, and there are lots of nice places to wine and dine now as compared to years ago.......more crowded and more expensive that it used to be, but then what isn't? No bugs which suprised me......but hot, even for a guy that has lived in south Florida for 50 years. If anyone is looking to go to the Keys, try Long Key State Recreational Area, Mile Marker (MM) 67.5. There are many sites right on the Atlantic, with salt cedar pines for partial shade. Here is a tip.....try to get your hands on a little give away booklet called "Great Locations Florida Keys/Key West (
WWW.GREATLOCATIONS.COM)......I stumbled onto it at a resturant, they are free and they have lots of info on the Keys with some discount coupons...maps etc...it's a great little booklet, and did I mention it's FREE! I like free stuff.
Happy camping to all.
