Sorry I missed your post - I got a new phone and was having problems with this website updating. Not too much here in Baton Rouge. I've driven through Tickfaw SP and it looks nice and have heard good things. It's about 45 minutes east of Baton Rouge off of I-12. Sorry about late reply.

We stayed at Tickfaw a few years ago. Park was nice.

Well come to think of it, there is a campground on River Road near LSU. It's operated by Baton Rouge Parks & Recreation. The campground is associated with a horse activity center (Farr Park Horse Activity Center). There's an enclosed arena and stalls on site adjacent to the campground. I always figured it was just for people with horses who were participating in some type of horse related event. The main Parks & Rec phone number is 225-272-9200. Not really much to do though - unless you bring a horse I guess.

We stayed at Farr Park last spring break on our way from Dallas to Orlando. It was a nice over night stop. Large grassy area but some muddy spots. Nothing special though only a few miles south of I 10.
