Dennis and I just returned last night from a month long trip from Oregon through Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah, Nebraska, Kansas and the Missouri border. It was a spectacular trip and we had a great time connecting with family and friends. We found some wonderful campsites along the way and thought we'd share a few photos along the way.
We saw a bighorn ram at the Sinks near Lander, Wyoming. The river drops underground for a few hundred feet and emerges later with underground springs and pools. It is a very interesting place that seems to have multiple underground pathways according to scientists who have studied the water patterns. This is the pool where the river again is above ground.
This was one of our campsites in the high desert outside of Jeffrey City, Wyoming. My mother loves to hunt for jade here so we spent a few days with her there.
Guernsey Resevoir was another beautiful find. It is a huge park and we only saw 2 other parties when we were there last week.
We spent a night at Massacre Rock in Idaho. We had a beautiful view of the Snake river and a lot of privacy.
. That was after we had crossed the Teton Mountains in Wyoming where we got caught in the beginning of a snowstorm.
Kansas was a treat for us. We found a wonderful place to camp at Clinton Lake outside of Lawrence, Kansas. We saw flocks of pelicans, blue heron, bluebirds and many other wildlife including coyotes.
We are home again and looking forward to the NOG in two weeks. We hope to see many of you there!
