Camping around Hope B.C.

It is going to be August long, any ideas where to camp around Hope? This is the first time since starting at the beginning of July that we are having some difficulty and may have to stay in a private campground. Anybody stayed at one that they would recommend?

Thanks,

Greig

The best campground in Hope is not on the web, but i can't remember the name. It's in our trip log, but it's too late for me to go out and retrieve it. I'll do that tomorrow and will post then.
cheers
Ian

Correction Greg, they are on the web at Home | Coquihalla Campground
The location is good, on the river, it's a short walk to town and you are away from the rail line (CP main line, very busy all night). Hope this helps some.
cheers
Ian

Hi Greg, the one that Ian-Vicki recomended is about the only one that I would recomend also. It's quiet, unlike the other ones that have a train running by every hour at night. There is also the Othello tunnels campground but I haven't stayed there yet. Hope this helps. Marina

Hi Greg if you don't mind boon docking there are a couple free or $10 a night camp grounds in that area. They can be found in this book. I'd let you know where they are but you really need the book for the detailed instructions to find these hidden gems. It will say take this logging road X km turn right go X km turn left etc. The book also describes the site (most on lakes) and how accessible it is based on rig size. IMO a must have book for any Car/RV camper in BC.

Cheers,
Mark

We stayed at Othello Tunnels campground last Sept. The manager was rude when I asked about a problem with WIFI access. Campground itself was not great but would have been ok except for staff. There is a bit of highway noise from across the river.

Do visit the tunnels. They are interesting and scenic.

Love the Othello Tunnels, but when we camp in Hope, we stay in the Good Sam campground - Wild Rose RV Park.

Wild Rose Campground and RV Park, British Columbia, Canada - Camping and RV Park

We don't usually stay in private campgrounds. This is one of they few we like.
