Hello, everyone. This week, I'm staying at Cardens Bluff Campground near Hampton, TN, in the Cherokee National Forest. This campground caters primarily to tent campers; only a few sites are accessible to trailers. Sites 28 and 29 are the best for trailers. Site 25 is a possibility for a small trailer, along with site 16. Site 2 will accommodate a trailer but is in a poor location near the park entrance.
There are no
electrical hookups here, and water is available only at centralized locations. The cost is $12 per night, and the campground hosts have been extremely helpful and friendly.
I am working "remote remote" this week, using a Bluetti AC100
solar generator alongside a Renogy 100W
solar panel. We have been socked in with rain and fog today, so I was unable to charge, but the forecast is for clear skies tomorrow.
Lake access is difficult from the campground (it is, after all, situated on a bluff). There is a boat launch nearby, however.
If you are in east Tennessee and are interested in
dry camping, I would certainly recommend Cardens Bluff.
