Hi,

I know most things closed up after thanksgiving but we'd still like to get another weekend of camping in somewhere in southern ontario - does anyone have any recommendations about what is still open?

Thanks

Hi Phil,

Check out a couple of the Provincial Parks that stay open all year. MacGregor Point and the Pinery on Lake Huron and until October 28 Bronte Creek, Rondeau and Sauble Falls.

Phil, we have enjoyed Algonquin's Mew Lake campsite. There are lots of serviced sites...and if you can boondock, there are more lake front sites and also a "radio free" and "dog free" areas as well. Last year while leaf peeping, we were treated to a young moose wandering through the campsite munching on leaves.
That campground is open all year long, and is close to some nice side hikes...try Whiskey Creek.
Enjoy...Alistair

Elora Gorge doesn't close until Sunday of this coming weekend. We just got back from Thanksgiving there. Lots of open sites.

Thank you all for your suggestions. We live about 3km from Bronte Creek provincial park but have never been camping there - perhaps this is a good excuse to go late in the season, lol.
