PS To answer you question, yes it would affect those appliances.

Once again, I'll carry our your suggestion. However, the heater worked the first 2 weeks of my (5 week) trip. The hot water heater went out a couple days before I started back home. Regarding the hot water heater: The pilot light won't stay lit; it goes out after 5 - 10 minutes. The heater doesn't work at all: no blower when switched on. A new heater was installed (incorrectly) just before I bought the trailer, but the thermostat is rather old. I'm hoping the problem lies with the thermostat and not the heater.

Would you like to work through the heater problem one step at a time or just find somebody near you to fix it ? ( your call )
