Miss you by this much. It is a hard place to get into, we lucked out. You can go to youtube to see your camp lot. Were right next to the boardwalk. Friday should be almost 90 during the day. Let me know what lot # you will be in and I will leave you a little something.....

We have never camped there, had a reservation last February but canceled it. Did stop and take a look on our way back to our winter campsite in GA from visiting a relative in FT Pierce in January. We actually had reservations all over Florida last Feb. including Long Key, and a few places on the west coast, but cancelled them all to stay put in GA. This Nov. we are going to FT Clinch, Gamble, Sebastian, FT DeSoto, and Henderson, then back to the coast of GA for 3 months starting Dec. 1. We like Huntington Beach SC, but it's not far enough south for the winter, and no cable TV, LOL!

Gamble Rogers

Shawn,
We were fortunate to get a walk-up site at Gamble Rogers two years ago. We were in site 27 on the other side of the boardwalk. We set up on the tail end of a Nor'easter storm, it was blowing 35-39 mph when we arrived!
Some pix of our oceanfront site and the view.....

Nice, we will be on the other side of the walk. Friday looks like 90 during the day and 70 at night! Thinking about taking the smoker and having a clam bake ,lol. Elvis style....

Was that site noisy being right by the board walk?

It's not a boardwalk it is a walkway to get to the beach. My bad on calling it a boardwalk. The camp ground at this state park only has 30 sites.

The big attraction of this campground is that it overlooks the beach. As I recall it was just a straight dirt road parallel to the highway with back-in sites side by side on each side of the dirt strip. We are going to try it for 3 nights, then move on to try the other campgrounds we booked in Florida, then back to Georgia to be Yankee Snowbirds!

@ Shawn - Have a great weekend and enjoy your camp time !

@ Melissa - "boardwalk" is a wooden walkway with overlook and stairs to the beach. Access is limited to campers so it is not heavily trafficked nor noisy.

@ Bob - Your memory serves you correctly, it is a single lane road with campsites on either side. The east side fronts the ocean.

@Deb & Sam
Had a great time. As you can see we were right next to your ole spot! It was in the high 80's Friday but rainy and chilly Sat. The camp fire took care of that. Sunday was sunny and windy. I don't think I could have asked for more! Oh and the water was warm...

Shawn,
Looks good! Glad you and the fam had a great time at the beach!

Your trailer looks very similar to a Boler I saw on the road in St. Augustine historic district about six months ago. I don't clearly remember the tug, maybe a maroon colored SUV.... Could that sighting have been you ???

Deb

It could have been. We just got the puppy this year around April or May and have done ALOT of work on it since then. I do tow with a maroon truck.
