Meramac state park in Sullivan, maybe an hour west of SL. State park rates with water/ele. is around $21. large campground, but most of the weekend crowd has most likely left so there should be spots there....close to a river, lots of shade.

A friend of mine is a campground host there.....probably the only 13 foot scamp in the park....site 101 or thereabouts. if you are past there, there is another one on down the road maybe 45 minutes away...Ogandan or something state park.....has a nice cavern there. have fun. Sorry i am late to responding to your inquiry, but had lots of things to do today on the farm.

We made it to Meramec State Park. Thank you so much for the tip. For now it's bedtime. More later good night. Meow.

hope the weather cooperated.....70 degree day, sunshine, low humidity, cool 60's at nite.....yeah, right!

Enjoy Missouri, even if you are only passing thru.....don't let this year's brown make you think it is always like this.....we are usually very green and pretty.

Cute cat! I have two who are miniatures of yours, Munchkins.

Enjoy MO. I used to work there and enjoyed driving to Columbia from Cape once a month.

Mike, you take over for Oklahoma....know there are lots of places in Oklahoma.

Can we suggest Palo Duro canyon out of Amarillo? I think there is a campground there plus that great outdoor play, Texas.

Wow this is great. Okay tonight we're driving all the way to Oklahoma City. It's a long day with the cats but we're about 120 miles away. Looks like tonight we're to be in the driveway of my sisters house. Unless of course her four dogs and our two cats can become quick friends. Or it just might be the cats in the scamp by themselves.

We'll probably stay in OKC two nights. Then the next day Push passed Amarillo someplace near Clovis. Know of any spots out that way?

Then we plan a night with our friend near Ruidoso New Mexico. The night after that probably make Sierra Vista Arizona if we don't have a shorter two day trip with a night in between.

This move is a little less vacation and a lot more lets get to Arizona with the cats than I'd like. Right now it's what we got to do. I keep telling Kathleen that we need to retire. And soon but not for another 5 to 10 years in reality.

My standard piece of advice for anyone is to retire just as soon as you can make the finances work. Even if you live to 100, life is short and it goes fast. Seems like I graduated from high school about a week ago and, in a few days, I'll be 76. Can't believe it.

Sorry I missed seeing the replies yesterday. I was thinking of suggesting Red Rock Canyon State Park, about an hour west of OKC and not far off the expressway. Too late, I guess...
