City camping in Sioux Falls

We will be testing our new to us 2020 Scamp 19' Deluxe. Two nights at the Sioux Falls KOA. This will be our first RV night out this year. We spent the day loading the Scamp with cookware, etc recovered from our Airstream.

Hope you enjoy your “new to you” Scamp 19. I had to chuckle, though, when you mentioned loading it with personal belongings including cookware. For my spouse and me, it seems the first two years in every trailer we’ve owned saw frequent “rearrangements” to make “flow” more efficient. Hopefully, you will get it right quicker than we ever have done. Welcome to the fiberglass world!

We have been camping with a trailer for 18 years. By now we have a good feel for what we need, but each trailer storage is enough different that it takes time to get the arrangement right. Almost half of the cupboards are still empty. So we have the room to rearrange.

Boondocking in Sioux Falls

A couple of years ago they removed a bridge over the Big Sioux River at Timberline Ave. The road dead ends in about a half mile, and there is only one house on the dead end road. Where the road dead ends there is a large turning loop and a spur to park a small camper where it will not interfere with anyone turning around. I spent 2 nights there while waiting to pick up my son at the airport. Be prepared for a lot of noisy Burlington & Northern trains. Check Google Earth for N 43 35 55.50 W 96 39 12.09 to see the place. A nice place to stealth camp. Right on the Big Sioux River. The police came by a couple of times but ignored me.
