City of Houghton, MI RV Park

I overnighted last week at the City of Houghton, MI RV Park. This is a small park with 22 sites. Several of them are right on the water. I would have liked to stay another night but did not have time. It was very chilly so I could not really enjoy it as much as I would have liked.

I would recommend this park but notate that there are no bathroom facilities so this park might not be for everyone.

It has been many years since I was in Houghton/Hancock but I remember tent camping in a small city campground in Hancock side. It was in the woods and surrounded by blueberry bushes that I enjoyed snacking on. It had bathroom facilities and was free, as I remember. Anyone aware of that place? Would have been about 18 years ago. That part of Michigan is my favorite scenic area and I have camped all over the country.

We went leaf peeping in the U.P. a couple weeks ago, including Copper Harbor. That US-41 drive was gorgeous. I took so many pictures of the leaves, and they weren't even at peak!

It's a scenic time of year to be there, but one does need a warm coat for many days and most nights in Oct. Glad you got to take the drive. I hope you went along the western shoreline where possible, because that road has some nice views of the lake.

I've never camped in Houghton nor Hancock, but spent 3 nights in McLain SP.
