Cororus state park, Pennsylvania

We just stayed for one night at Codorus state park in south-central PA. They have a nice lake with canoe, kayak, paddleboat, and even pontoon boat rentals. The campsites were very nice. I think there are about 300 of them, including some tent only sites. If you are thinking of camping there, take a look on a satellite image to see which sites are wooded and which ones are in open fields. The big motor coaches were in the open ones... so they could pick up satellite TV!

The bath houses were nice, sites are level. The drive in is very pretty. There are some decent hills near the park, but my little car was able to pull the Scamp without a problem.

We didn't spend too much time at the park, since we were in the area on business -- we own a rental property in York, PA. We have kayaked and rented a pontoon boat on the lake in the past, though. Just a note: At PA state parks, you need a registration for any boat, even a kayak. We can't bring our kayaks from MD up there... so if we want to paddle, we have to rent them at the park.

Here's a pic of our website. My in-laws met us at the park for dinner (chili) and brought us a pumpkin and a mum to make out site look festive!

Thanks for the information. Looks like about a half hour drive to the Gettysburg battlefield from there. Do they allow pets? I recall camping at one beautiful PA state park where pets were not allowed, but we didn't have our dog with us on that trip.

They do have a few pet sites. We didn't have the dog with us, though.

So how fast can that little red thing go when you pull the trailer?

Same speed as the trailer!

Seriously, though... I try to keep it at 60 MPH or less (depending on the road). I did hit 65 MPH a few times on my last trip, but mostly by accident (not paying attention). I could go fast enough to get into trouble, that's for sure. Now, going up hills... that's another story.

My little 128 horsepower car hauling my family and my Scamp has roughly the same power-to-weight ratio as a Ford F150 hauling my family and a 3,000 pound trailer.

Back at Codorus for a couple of days. My wife had surgery yesterday and still wanted to go camping!

Could a moderator change the title of this thread to "Codorus" with a "d" in it? Just noticed my mistake.
