We just stayed for one night at Codorus state park in south-central PA. They have a nice lake with canoe, kayak, paddleboat, and even pontoon boat rentals. The campsites were very nice. I think there are about 300 of them, including some tent only sites. If you are thinking of camping there, take a look on a satellite image to see which sites are wooded and which ones are in open fields. The big motor coaches were in the open ones... so they could pick up satellite TV!
The bath houses were nice, sites are level. The drive in is very pretty. There are some decent hills near the park, but my little car was able to pull the
Scamp without a problem.
We didn't spend too much time at the park, since we were in the area on business -- we own a rental property in York, PA. We have kayaked and rented a pontoon boat on the lake in the past, though. Just a note: At PA state parks, you need a
registration for any boat, even a kayak. We can't bring our kayaks from MD up there... so if we want to paddle, we have to rent them at the park.
