I'm not going this year, but I am planning to next year. I would appreciate someone (or many) telling us all here everything you can about camping at Airventure. Pictures would be really beneficial for us as well.
Specifics I'd like to know about
:
Is there an area where like minded individuals (Casitas and the like) tend to gather? Do they have AC power at the campground? What about water and dumping? Can you just show up anytime without notice and pull in to camp?
I've been to Airventure, but never camped there. It looks like it could be fun, but it also looks like its really hot, subject to all kinds of weather problems and a zoo! I'm thinking about taking my Veteran/retired Collins Radio management elderly father and our
Casita and making a few days of it. It would be really good for him if we could see the show from the trailer and minimize his having to walk the grounds. Camping around other FG campers would be a plus too. He would just about require some sort of
air conditioning to get out of the heat when need be.
