Family trip to Moab UT

This is part one of our family trip to Moab UT in our 2010 JKU pulling a 97 16' casita. We had a great time. I hope you all enjoy the video.

http://youtu.be/kDq-7DkF_aM

If you enjoy this there are a few more parts.

We left Florida heading to Moab then went to Yellowstone then home again. When we got home we were ready to keep going. Awesome trip.

Viewed several of the videos (especially Part 2b). Wow! You guys are nuts. Seriously, I bet some priceless family memories were made on this trip–"Remember the time Dad made us rock climb in the Jeep?"

Beautiful photography. Thanks for sharing. I've got to see a few of these places in person.

looks like everyone had fun, what kind of mileage do you get with the jeep and those monster tires

Great looking family you have there and awesome pictures and video. The JK/Casita combo is pretty nice as well. The southwest is our favorite destination and I recognized a few of the shots in your post. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoyed watching your videos; thanks for posting about your big trip.

I didn't hear too many complaints about the rutty trail and your camera didn't shake as much as I thought it would. I guess with those big tires, you can keep the air pressure a bit low so the Jeep won't rattle as much. I used to have a '94 Jeep Wrangler with factory tires and it wasn't very reassuring on rough trails.

Nice family you have there; they look like good sports!

On the trails i aired down to 12 psi. On the highway i run 30 psi. Helps a lot off road as you mentioned.

Thanks again for all the positivity.

We're hoping to go to the Outer Banks this year and Colarado next year.

If you want more info on the OBX, let me know. We live a hundred miles or so inland and camp there frequently. Given your penchant for off-roading, you might want to check out Cape Lookout National Seashore and especially the Morris Marina website Portsmouth Island Fishing and Ferries, Morris Marina, Long Point Cabin Camp at Cape Lookout National Seashore, Atlantic NC as a potential side trip while in the area.

PI is probably the most unspoiled beach on the east coast. I wouldn't recommend taking the Casita over but the Park Service has twenty rustic cabins there or you can tent camp for free most anywhere on the island.

Andy, got your PM and sent a response (two actually) but they're not showing in my 'sent folder' here. Let me know if you don't get them and I'll try a direct email.

Andy, glad to see you made it to Portsmouth. If we're not tenting, the octagon cabins have always been our favorite choice for lodging there. Did you get a chance to drive up to the Village?

Thanks for posting the pics and hope the kids enjoyed themselves.
