This past weekend we had a friend who was getting married at a bed and breakfast south of Newport so we decided to combine a camping trip with the wedding. This was our first camping trip this spring. We stayed at one of our favorite places in Yachats where we have great views. We expected intermittent rains and variable weather but were delighted to have three days of glorious sunshine (some rain at night). We are definitely ready for another trip. Here are some photos for those of you who haven't yet been able to get out. The first ones are from our camp, followed by the wedding site and finally the view of boats from the Rogue Ale brewery in Yachats.

Beautiful! What great photos! Are you willing to share the name of the campground, and is it close to the beach?

Sure, it is a private campground called Sea Perch. We have camped here for years before it was recently renovated. It is a fairly spendy place to stay but it is the only place we have found that is so close to the water. If you look at the photo of our Bigfoot you can see the grass. Looking to another photo you will see the edge of the grass directly abutting the beach. You are less than 15 steps to the beach and there isn't anything visually interferring with your view. You can smell and hear the ocean. You can check out details about the campground at: www.seaperchrvpark.com. Looking forward to seeing you at Taidnapam!

Minor correction, but Rogue Ale Brewery is in South Beach next to the marina. Don't think Yachats has a marina or a harbor...but a lovely cove.

Looking through their site, it seems that they are getting ready to sell the 29 RV sites and get out of the park business. Just said they would be for sale when the renovations are complete. That would be a shame, cause it looks like a cool place to spend a few nights.

They have been for sale for at least 2 years. The price is exorbitantly high (almost $200,000 for a pad). So far only one site has sold and they have starting building a small cabin on it. The outside frame is done but the inside is not yet finished. It is for sale for $379,000. Yes, it would be sad to see it no longer available but for now it is a great spot.

Well, at that price, I think one can assume it will remain an RV park for many years to come.... I may try and book this when we head north from Bandon this summer.
