If Fort Pickens Campground is in your future, make it Loop A. Much nicer than the other two loops. I wanted to mention it in my previous post #11, but got distracted.

Thanks, Paul. I appreciate knowing exactly that kind of detail.

It was some kind of very mundane distraction, I am sure. I already forgot!

We've camped at most of the places suggested so far and our favorite is St. Joseph Peninsula State Park. Also among our favorites are Big Lagoon (near Pensacola), Fort Pickens, and the back loop of Topsail. About our least favorite place is the one so many people are recommending - Gulf State Park. For us it doesn't have enough shade or campsite privacy and it's too far to the beach.

Oh, and if you don't insist on a beach campground, Stephen Foster, Blackwater River, and Suwannee River state parks are all nice - as are Bear Lake and Krul Lake campgrounds located within the Blackwater River State Forest, (not to be confused with the state park with the same name).
