I think hamming it up in a
Scamp will really test your RFI abatement skills. I know it does mine. Converter,
solar controller, modified fan with PWM speed control,
LED lights, and a foil lined shell... it all adds up to quite a noisy environment (RF-wise). Turning everything off and running straight off a
battery might be the way to go (at least for a few hours).
I ran an Icom 7200 a few times in the camper but now have a Icom 7300 which might be one of the overall best portable HF radios available (internal turner, good speaker, USB interface and digital filter for all that RFI). Hope to try it soon but at the campsites I go to, having a good antenna is a challenge.
