Won't be for a long trip but we're finally getting away to BRP. Planning on going to Flintlock campground near Boone, NC. It looks nice but we'll see. Just a little warmer upper to when we take the grandkids out "west" on 6/7/06 to Badlands, Yellowstone and no telling where.

I love the southern Appalachians! WV, VA, NC, TN, GA, AL, KY.

Every chance I get I go hiking, backpacking, or camping in the high country of the South. Nothing better.

Made it back yesterday in one piece. HAD A WONDERFUL SHORT TRIP. Two nights around Blowing Rock , NC and one night farther south nearer Asheville. Figured out a lot of things we will be taking/leaving home when we leave again in June with grandkids. Scamp was great and weather couldn't be better except rain on way home. Talking about trying to get to Spring Mill Campout but not sure yet.
First time pulling with the 06 Suburban and pleasantly surprised with right at 15mpg including all the hills in the Appalachians. Should get better when we go west. Gas is also cheaper down that way ($2.69-$2.79) usually.
I'll try to post some pictures when I figure out how and get a chance.

Great! Nothing like a good test run to help know what you need/want and what you don't.

I just know your trip with the grandkids is gonna be a blast!
