Have arrived back in southern Utah after a nice stay in Portland, OR. Got to OMSI and Powell's books as well as the Oregon Zoo. My wife and kids went out to Tillamook and the coast while I was at the physics teachers meeting. On the way out of town we camped at Mt. Hood and spent some time at the timberline lodge. The drive through the gorge was easy and beautiful.
We stopped at the Idaho Discovery Center in Boise and it was a very pleasant surprise. Lots of great interactive activities and solid science. Much better than OMSI or the big ones in Denver or Columbus, OH.
My wife put the new water pump in the
Scamp and it is amazing. Quiet, fast, efficient. The old pump had terribly noisy bearings and ran for so long I thought there must be a leak somewhere. Turns out the problem was the pump itself. Water system seems great now.
We did have a mishap with the wind pulling the (unstaked)
awning up over the camper. The material ripped and one of the supports was bent. My wife says she can stitch it and we should be able to unbend the support.
