The bikes are in the black bag on the back of the Uhaul and left the toys home, but the bright orange box on the front is new since we saw you last. No room for toys this trip, living in this for four months

Thanks for making us feel warmer. I plowed snow for two hours this afternoon and had to use a blowtorch to thaw the cover off the grill so I could cook Thanksgiving dinner tonight. If it sounds like we're jealous, we are!

It was 20 degrees today in Saratoga, close to your hometown. The sun was out but it didn't help. I was going to put my new Calmark cover on the Scamp today but a turkey diner and football interfered. Ill have to do it tomorrow. Hope you two guys enjoy the weather down there. Till the next eggrally.

Are the front stabilizers something that you added yourself? Are they built-in or free-standing?

Sharon, the front stabilizers are free standing, not attached to the trailer. They are the standard square base that screw up against the trailer frame. However I couldn't find a short set so cut down a taller set that I had. Welded a "V" shaped piece on the top to set up against the frame tube. The rear stabilizers are replacement fold down telescoping ones that I got from etrailer. I can help you out with a front set if you can't find something to work. We'll have to get together in the spring when we get back home. We took this photo with our iPad to send to our kids, it came out good so decided to try posting it here, a task we have yet to perfect. usually it's by dumb luck that we are able to get a picture on here, will get it down eventually. Surprised that no one has asked about the orange storage box, it almost matches the decals.

Thanks Bob. I did notice the orange box, but my eye was caught by the front stabilizers first. I still have a propane tank on the front, so my first priority is to get the spare tire mounted on the back and regain walking room in my trailer so I can work on the inside. In the unretired person's world, it can take a long time to get to projects.

AJB; it's a NRS Canyon box, $160 at LL Bean. NRS is a Canadian company.

I had to modify the tongue jack for the crank handle to clear the box.

I have been a little hesitant to bring our bikes to the beach because of concerns about rust. Do you find your bag keeps them pretty well protected? I have been wanting to find a cover to protect them, so would love to hear about your cover. We're headed to Hunting Island State Park next month and I'd like to get one by then.

Bikes is a whole other story LOL. Unless your going to ride on the beach, or be at Hunting a long time, rust should't be a problem. We've been there a couple times, but skipped it the last trip south. I bought the bike bag to protect them while traveling. It is from Swagman. I had a few issues with it. First off it is made for the type of bike rack where the bikes hang on it. My rack is a custom made of the type where the bike wheels set on trays (Thule), so I had to cut a hole in the bag for the receiver. Slide rack tube through hole, then into receiver. The bag has a long zipper that runs from bike front wheel to rear wheel, and some straps to tighten the bag over the bikes. The zipper popped open one time, and one strap broke. We did a 4000 mile trip with this setup, and a couple holes rubbed through the bag where there was rough edges on the bikes, like on the rear rack and brake lever. I fully expected to be throwing the bag in a dumpster before the end of the trip, but it held up reasonably well and is still useable. It did accumulate some water in it because of my modification, the drain holes weren't positioned right. So as final appraisal I will say it did protect the bikes while traveling. Waxing your bike with an auto wax is a good idea prior to a trip. When we are set up on a campsite we use an ez-up type shelter with 3 sides as bike garage/ cook tent.
