Hipcamp

Please excuse me if this has been covered before. On our last trip, we discovered “hipcamp”. It’s the AirBnB of campgrounds. Rates vary from incredibly economical to ridiculously expensive. We rented a spot in a suburban backyard from a very nice young woman in Alabama. The cost was $15 and included power (our little LiteHouse has 15 amp service), water and use of the shower/bathroom in the house. It was a little weird camping in someone’s backyard but the host was really awesome and the location was on the way to a museum we wanted to visit.

Not heard of these folks before, so thanks. I've looked at several others where you can book in someone's driveway or whatever. Never used them though.

Basically, you get to camp on a winery, orchard, or other similar location. Sounds interesting and will probably get you to explore cool places you would've missed otherwise. We haven't tried it but are looking into it.
