Iceland camping

Has anyone had experience renting a vehicle for camping in Iceland? Wish I could take my little trailer there, but I’m sure there are other options. I'd love to hear what others have done.

I have not had this experience but a few years ago....some close friends visited Iceland and stayed in a "Bubble" room. They said it was incredible.....looking up at the stars all night. The pictures they shared great beautiful. I am sure info on the bubble experience can be found on the internet. Have fun.

Back in July of 2013 we did this.
Without any reservations (as we were flying standby) we booked with these folks https://www.gocampers.is/
They brought the camper to our hotel, and we left it at the airport at the end.

We had a blast - had no problem finding campgrounds, and since we were the first folks renting the unit they named it "James" in our honor.

We had it for a week, went everywhere we could on tarmac, and it was much cheaper than hotels. (and more fun)
