For me, Yes. For Teresa, who knows, it's been several different colors the past few years

Wise choice. Happy wife, happy life. Have a great trip and of course, pictures are always appreciated, especially by those of us still awaiting our trailer.

Big Pine Key
What is your fav. campground? We may be in the Keys in April, but have never camped there.

I only camp in the State Parks so here are my favorites in that order:
1. Long Key SP (all sights ocean front.)
2. Curry Hammock SP (awesome kayaking and nice beach steps from campground)
3. Bahia Honda SP (nice park, lots to see and do. Road noise from the bridge is
annoying.)
4. John Pennekamp SP (I don't like this place at all!)

We like Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge- but then we've not tried a lot of others. I think it speaks volumes that it's our sixth year returning.
Some others we've sampled in the Keys and my impression of them:
1). If you're a veteran, there's no debate. Stay at NAS Key West on Dredger's Key.
2) Boyd's- about as close as a civilian can camp to Key West. Pretty nice but very cramped sites and in a bad neighborhood. Brick wall around the place.
3) Leo's- Same hood as Boyd's, tiny. Rustic facilities, kinda hippy funky vibe.
4)BPKFL. - fishing-centric, beautiful location, family-run, cleanest and nicest bath facilities I've ever seen. Great sunrises.
5) Bahia Honda State Park. Beautiful. As good as it gets, but hard to get a site in the wintertime
6) King's Kamp in Key Largo. Ugh. Don't. Trailer Park.

Happy Camping and Anniversary, Glelnn ! That looks like a perfect combo of fb trailer and horsepower + suspension , with fun and exercise on the roof ! I've never trailered to Florida, just poor old California and 10- 12 western states ! ( lol) Happy Trails ! David in Sonora, and this afternoon in Reno !

I have stayed at the Big Pine fishing lodge many times and have really missed going there lately. I also like Bahia Honda State park always crowded and like the sites in the dunes, the sites near the Palm trees are rat infested so be carful. I think that the beaches in Bahia are the best especially for windsurfing. I wish they would put a camp ground on No Name Key!

Yeah, the hotel site where the ferry landing used to be at the end of No Name would be a neat place for a campground.
4 hours in, crossing the Florida line

Thanks!
Drove 'til 11-ish last night, then shut down in the Pompano Beach plaza, the only RV in a whole mess of tractor-trailers. Woke up this morning surrounded by three other campers.

All of the towables are regulars, we've met in years past. The Sunrader and the big Vagabond are cool, too. And fiberglass!

Celebrated our 25th anniversary with a nice long paddle around Bahia Honda and the traditional dinner at No Name Pub.

Thanks for great pix, they bring back many good memories especially the dollars from No Name pub. I hope that you have the mast, boom and sails for the winsurfer, I used to love sailing from the beach at Bahia Honda. I am grumpy up north shoveling the snow of my Trilli and the GF is not interested in going south. I am thinking about a solo trip. I love that 6-pack carrier, need one for my bike..Have fun in the sun
